When Chace entered himself into this year’s Emmy race, it was met with some derision. After all, Nate was barely on the series this year. ButLeighton Meester? She’s got one of the biggest roles on Gossip Girl — and Season 4 was practically the Blair show — so it wasn’t too far-fetched to find out that her name had been submitted for consideration in theLead Actress in a Drama category.
Not that she’ll actually get nominated, obviously. The CW series has never received an acting Emmy nod in any of its four seasons on the air — so why now? As much as we’ve grown to love the characters, it’s not like the show’s writing and acting has gotten significantly better with time. (Just sayin’.)
But even if the chances are slimmer than slim, do you think Leighton deserves the most coveted piece of hardware in TV land — or at least a nomination?
