It sure seems like Mr. Marin only shows up when Hanna (Ashley Benson) is in trouble. He came to visit after she crashed Sean's (Chuck Hittinger) car and he’ll suddenly appear again onPretty Little LiarsSeason 2. Showrunner Marlene King toldTVGuide that there’s “a great storyline with Hanna's mom and dad. Hanna's dad comes back because he's concerned that she's winding up on the front page of theRosewood Observer.” He's not the most involved father, but at least he'll be around more in the upcoming episodes.
King continued that Mr. Marin “comes back to stay for awhile and we play out the storyline of Hanna's mom and dad. It's a 'what if dad wouldn't have left?'" Does that mean Mr. and Ms. Marin will get back together? Or is her dad only there temporarily and will be bringing his perfect stepdaughter, Kate? We hope it’s the former — because Hanna could sure use come good news in her life!
