We’ve been suspicious of this Charlie (Kaylee DeFer) person from the beginning. No one in Gossip Girl world is that nice. She has to be hiding something — which is why we were relieved to learn that something big and bad happened to made her drop out of college.

So what’s Charlie’s secret? A few theories:
She attempted suicide. This would explain why her mom says someone needs to keep an eye on her. Also, it’s kind of a family tradition. She and Eric (Connor Paolo) could bond over their fave antidepressants.
She’s planning to Single White Female Serena (Blake Lively). This is usually Jenny’s (Taylor Momsen) play, but since she’s gone, someone needs to be seethingly jealous of Serena and blonde enough to dress up as her. Given the ecstasy on Charlie’s face as she slipped into Serena’s Louboutins, Charlie’s well on her way.
She killed someone. Also kind of a family tradition.
She caused the oil spill. Hey, it would explain why she wanted to get out of the Gulf.
