For awhile there, all was peachy in Caroline Forbes’ (Candice Accola) world. Then, in trueTVD fashion, it was turned upside down. First, she became a vampire (“the little vampire that could,” producer Kevin Williamson tells TV Guide), then befriended a werewolf, and then got herself into whole heaps of trouble. But after an intense torture sesh at the hands of Tyler Lockwood’s furry friends, things settled down. The former cheerleader learned to control her blood lust, Tyler booked it outta town, and Caroline returned to her normal teenage life. Or as normal as life can be when you’re secretly surviving on blood bags.
But as the season finale approaches, everything is hitting the fan again in Caroline’s controllable little world. Not only does Matt finally know she’s not human (thanks, vervain!), so does her mother. Sticky situation much?
We’re all wondering: Does Matt and Mama Forbes’ knowledge spell bad news for Caroline?Candice Accola told The TV Chick that right now, nothing’s for sure. It’s all up in the air, and things can change in an instant. This is TVDwe’re talking about!
“It depends on the master plan that Sheriff Forbes has ultimately against the vampires,” Candice says. “And whether or not Matt stays on Sheriff Forbes’ side ...” We’d hope both of them would choose to protect their daughter/girlfriend, but who knows in this town!
Either way though, everyone’s sure Caroline can handle it. "She's the strongest character on the show,” Williamson tells TV Guide. Accola adds: “...She was given a chance to mess up and come out the other side a stronger, more secure person. She's finding herself and growing up."
Another relationship in question is Caroline’s friendship (can we even call it that anymore?) with Tyler Lockwood. Word is, he’s on his way home. How will Caroline deal with that? “It depends on why he comes back,” she says. “That’s the biggest thing. It really depends on what his intentions are.”
And — spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched “Klaus” — Tyler still believes in the moonstone curse, so who knows which side he’ll support. His first transformation looked pretty brutal, and if given the chance to stop them forever, we think even we might betray a few peeps to get that done. If there’s one thing we’ve learned from The Vampire Diaries it’s that you’ve gotta look out for number one!
