ZOMG! At the end of last week’s Vampire Diaries, we saw something absolutely horrifying: One nasty werewolf bite on Damon’sarm. And as much as we’ve willed ourselves to forget, we know all too well what that does to a vampire, and if we’re being honest, it scares us to um, death, to think about losing our favorite snarky and sexy front man.
TVD producer Julie Plec won’t spoil whether he’ll stay or go, but says the fanged cutie will deal with a lot of existential issues in the meantime. Totally didn’t see that coming (yeah, right). But Damon is hardly the only one who’ll have to deal with mortality issues. As you no doubt recall, in a fit of passionate rage, Damon forced Elena to suck his blood, so if she dies during the Sacrifice and the elixir from Elijah doesn’t work, she’ll become a vampire.
Unfortch, there’s not much Damon can do to rectify that sitch, but at least he can learn from it, right? Producer Plec says that’s the point. “This thing he did to Elena is his biggest lesson to learn, in that you can love someone, with all the power in your soul, but you still have to remember who they are and what they want,” she tells Zap2It. And obviously, what Elena wants is to stay human. Whoops?
One person who learned that lesson years ago is Stefan. Quick refresher: Stefan took away Damon’s humanity — without giving him a choice — like 200 years ago. Sounds familiar, right? We guess Damon’s just a little slower to wise up than his younger bro. Double whoops?
But whether or not he’s been there, Stefan’s still pissed at Damon for what he did to Elena, even though he knows that’s super hypocritical. Don’t think Stefan won’t have to wrestle with his own demons to come to terms with that, though! "Stefan's cross to bear is 'Wait a second, my brother's finally showing his humanity, that I took away from him 145 years ago — I can't let him die now.' But there's no cure. So what the hell's he going to do? That's the finale,” Plec says.
Wow. Sounds like things are about to get deep on TVD! Nobody is safe from their inner demons anymore. Almost makes you forget there’s a real demon (namely, Klaus) out there....

Nina and Ian attending yet another event together is very promising. Maybe they’ll finallyadmit that they’re together, and we can stop playing this are-they-or-aren’t-they guessing game.
